BERLIN An Afghan lady gave birth on board an Air Force C-17 from the Middle East to Germany’s Ramstein Air Base.
The base serves as a transit point for Afghan refugees.
The mother had difficulties during the trip, the military said on Twitter. “The aircraft commander chose to drop in altitude to improve air pressure in the aircraft,” it reads.
At Ramstein, US medical professionals boarded the plane and delivered the kid to the cargo area. The newborn girl and her mother were taken to a local hospital and are OK.
