Chung Police filed a first news report (FIR) on Monday on a rickshaw driver and another guy on Lahore Avenue in the past day for gang-raping of a lady and her adolescent daughter.
The FIR was filed on the complaint of the lady according to Article 376 (rape penalty) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
According to FIR, a copy of which can be seen with Dawn.com, the 35 years-old lady informed the police that on Sunday around 10 pm she and her 15-year-old daughter had arrived Lahore by bus from Vehari. She claimed that they hailed a green rickshaw from the Thokar bus station to her sister’s home in the Saddar Cantonment Board of Officers’ Colony.
The FIR cited her as stating that instead of the rickshaw driver and another guy on the car, he brought her and his daughter to LDA Avenue.
The lady told her and her daughter to scream when they noticed the lights of a car stopping near the location where the rickshaw driver and the other person exited the car and fled. She claimed that her cell phone and Rs5000 cash had been taken away by the suspects.
Meanwhile, the lady claimed, after listening to her screams, someone contacted the police and then the cops arrived the area.
She stated that the suspects might be identified if they were presented pursuant to the FIR before her.
Later, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, the Police Officer of Lahore Capital City (CCPO), said an inquiry was started and that the police have imposed the rickshaw of the accused.
He stated that teams were established to apprehend the suspects, and evidence from the crime site was gathered.
The CCPO stated that the victims will be transported for medical evaluation in a hospital.
In addition, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar saw the event and requested a CCPO report.
In 48 hours, he ordered him to apprehend the culprits and make every attempt to bring justice to the victims.
