After an unstoppable Pakistan became the first country to seal its spot in the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, cricket fans in the country are now watching the performance of other countries, particularly India.

Among various officials and celebrities, Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, has been outspoken throughout the series.

Last night, Indian batsman Rohit Sharma blasted a scorching 74 to set up India’s first T20 World Cup victory with a 66-run thrashing of Afghanistan as Virat Kohli’s squad escaped an early elimination.

While many people were reacting to India’s triumph and their slim odds of remaining in the game, Chaudhry proposed a solution for India to continue in the series.

The minister made a dig at India and New Zealand, saying, “India may still reach the semifinals if they send false emails, while New Zealand departs UAE due to security concerns.”

His remarks were in response to the claims levelled against India when New Zealand abruptly cancelled its September tour of Pakistan, claiming a “security concern” as the cause.

Indians, on the other hand, mocked Chaudhry for trolling other nations while representing Pakistan.

An Indian user posted a photo of Burnol and responded that it was taken in the UAE, not Pakistan. He suggested that the minister use burnol.

Another Indian said that this is why Pakistan is referred to as a meme-country.
